Inspired by the stillness of winter sunsets and the skeletal beauty of bare trees against a fading sky. This XXL hand-built moon jar in porcelain is a large, quietly commanding vessel — its surface a landscape in miniature, with layered textured glazes drifting from soft cream and blush into cool wintry blues and sage greens.
Hand-drawn tree silhouettes wrap the form, etched into the glaze with the same spare, expressive line as ink on paper — branches reaching across the surface as the last light disappears behind the hills.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind, shaped by the unpredictable chemistry of multiple kiln firings. No two are ever alike.

About the Artist
Nicola Briggs is a Manchester-based artist and ceramicist with a BA(Hons) in Design: Ceramics Arts from Staffordshire University. She creates atmospheric landscape paintings and nature-inspired porcelain ceramics from her UK studio, capturing the quiet beauty of natural textures and light.
