About the Studio — Nicola Briggs Ceramics & Art

I’m Nicola Briggs — a Manchester-based artist and ceramicist making original landscape paintings and handmade porcelain ceramics from my studio in the north of England.

My work explores the quiet beauty of the natural world — the shifting light of moorland, the stillness of water, the atmospheric moments that exist between one state and another. These themes run through everything I make, from large-scale paintings to hand-built porcelain vessels.

The paintings are atmospheric and contemplative — rooted in landscape but freed from literal representation. The Liminal Series is the heart of this work: original paintings that capture threshold moments in nature, designed for considered interiors that value calm and presence.
